Le Diplomate

Vibe: Parisian bistro, complete with rich oak textures, dim lighting, and a mountain of fresh bread at the center of the room. Like any good French bistro, there’s lots of sidewalk/outdoor seating. “Le Dip” as the locals perhaps obnoxiously call it is usually at the top of everyone’s list. You’d think it would feel overdone, but I really believe it delivers on quality. Also if you’ve ever been to the uber-popular Pasitis in NYC, it’s owned by the same company and has a very similar menu/feel.

Where: Logan Circle - 14th Street.

Good For: Family dinners, dates with friends or S.O.’s. Whenever you’re in the mood for a special meal that leaves you feeling intoxicated (even if you’re passing on the wine). If you’re a part-time vegan like me, it’s a good place to let your guard down a little. French cuisine is relentless when it comes to animal products…but dare I say it’s worth it?

Need a Resy? Yes, and they can be tough to grab. Plan ahead!
