Vibe: Popular weekend spot with vintage subway tiles and mounds of pastries. You’ll see families, girlfriends catching up, couples on coming in after their morning run, lots of singles picking up our usuals.

Where: Lots of locations in D.C. (plus Boston!).

Good For: A superb pastry, with lots of options in both the sweet and savory departments. Lunch with a Mediterranean flair. An only-okay cup of joe, but the seasonal lattes or their Honey Halva House Special are worth a try if you like it sweet.

Need a Resy? No, but do order ahead if you’re popping in on a weekend morning. The lines tend to wrap the building, especially on nice weather days.
